The Almagellerhütte is located on the south side of the Weissmies and is starting point for alpine, climbing and hiking tours and is a destination for one-day visitors. Barren rocks, rushing torrents, the blue sky, the clear view over the Valais mountain peaks, the fresh air and the healthy climate form the perfect setting for your stay in the Almagellerhütte.

The conditions on the Weissmies are very good. The south ridge, Rotgrat and the traverse to Hohsaas are done daily.

Access to the hut free of snow
The path to the hut is free of snow. All paths are open and in good condition. At the crossing of the Rottalbach at an altitude of 2447 metres above sea level, we have diverted the path together with our section and installed a small rope bridge.

Hut warden at the Almagellerhütte
Built in 1984,📍 2894 m above sea level, 🛏️ sleeps 120 – these figures belong to the Almagellerhütte. Just like Gabriel Anthamatten, who as proud hut warden continues his parents’ 40 years of activity. He talks about life at the foot of the Weissmies 🏔️ and lasting encounters with guests in the new video story.

the “Zwischbergenpass” is easily accessible in about 60 minutes – for everyone. Between the Lago
Maggiore, the Monte Rosa and the Mischabel chain, an unforgettable morning atmosphere and
breathtaking pictures await you.
The traverse into the wild and romantic “Zwischbergental” is also an experience. There is another
